Jeffrey Nevaras

At age 10 I bought a guitar for $49.00 bucks in 1980. I remember just noodleing around not doing any thing to serious.

At age 12 I started taking guitar lessons from Ed Roselli a friend of my older brother . From there I started to practice every day. In high school I joined the Jazz Band and played trumpet and guitar.

When I was 16 I started studying with Mark White who is a professor at Berklee Collage of Music and a former student of Joe Pass and Charlie Banacos.

At 19 I entered Berklee collage of Music in 1989 and attended off and on part time till I graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of music performance. (I bet you didn’t know they had a 10-year plan)

While I was attending Berklee I studied Jon Finn, Brett Wilmont, Jon Damien, Jim Kelly, Greg Badalado, and Mike Williams, to name a few.

In 1991 I started teaching music and gigging about 30 gigs a year.

In 1995 I joined a popular local band called SOUTHBOUND this was my first steady paying gig. We played about 100 gigs per a year. This helped learn what a working musician was all about.

Since 1995 I have been teaching about 40-50 students a week as well as fill in gigs and studio sessions in addition to my regular gigs, about 100-150 gigs a year.

I have done studio sessions in the styles of country, pop rock heavy metal, and blues. Also, I have played in bands in the styles of classic rock, southern rock, and blues, Motown, funk, country, classic jazz, oldies, and most styles of rock from the 50’s- 2000’s.

Over the past 23 years of playing guitar I have learned to love a variety of guitar styles here’s a list of some of my influences; Danny Gatton, Brent Mason, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, George Benson, Warren Haynes, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson. I could go on but I’m sure you get the idea.

In addition to playing and teaching, I am currently in the middle of writing an instructional book and recording my own CD, which should be out by fall of 2005.
